SCHOTT TOPPAC® unique – Benefits of primary container customization with cyclic olefin copolymers for devices

With more and more drugs shifting to a homecare setting, drug delivery devices and wearables are getting increasingly important. To ensure that pharmaceutical packaging meets the specific requirements of these devices, including functionality and ease-of-use, SCHOTT offers to co-create individualized containers made out of cyclic olefin copolymer (COC) with its customers. With SCHOTT TOPPAC® unique, the customer is given the opportunity to co-develop a container around his existing device and not vice versa. So depending on the specific needs – for example, drug stability, fill & finish needs or compatibility – a novel primary container can be created without compromising on the device design. A defined 4-step sampling process reduces cost and overall project risk while allowing for reduced time-to-market.
