Antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) promise targeted, high-potency cancer treatment, but their complexity introduces significant challenges for ADC packaging, which must ensure product stability, safety, and efficacy throughout the drug’s lifecycle. Whether it’s …
… fogging of the lyophilized drug vials that threatens container closure integrity
… light sensitivity that accelerates degradation
… or the instability of liquid formulations that risks safety and efficacy
… each step in process must rise to meet ADC’s packaging challenges.
In this talk, Diana Löber will introduce advanced vial solutions of the EVERIC® family that are designed to address these most critical needs.

Abstract: As biologics progress along their lifecycle, the transition from vial-based formats to advanced pre-filled systems becomes critical to enable patient-centric delivery and lifecycle value optimization. As the shift from intravenous to subcutaneous delivery accelerates, large-volume subcutaneous (LVSC) biologics are redefining requirements for primary packaging. Enabling volumes beyond traditional limits demands solutions that ensure drug stability, patient safety, and seamless device integration. SCHOTT Pharma addresses this need with advanced, ready-to-use (RTU) platform innovations, expanding both glass and polymer portfolios across syringes and cartridges.
Designed for sensitive biologics and high-viscosity formulations, they combine low extractables, optimized silicone technology, and high break resistance with tight tolerances. Co-developed with leading device partners and aligned with standard fill-and-finish line requirements, these next-generation systems give pharmaceutical companies a decisive competitive edge - minimizing development risk, accelerating time-to-market, and enabling reliable scale-up of LVSC therapies.

Abstract: The rise of large volume and higher viscosities subcutaneous therapies is driving demand for solutions that address both patient usability and technical performance.
To meet these needs, Nemera and Schott jointly collaborated on a large volume manual injection platform integrating a 5.5 ml prefillable glass syringe with a dedicated safety system.
Designed around patient experience by leveraging user-centered design expertise, safety-system know-how, and recent advances in 5.5ml prefillable syringes development.
Human Factor study has been conducted, ultimately assessing the device’s ease of self administration. Results demonstrate that well designed manual systems can overcome usability barriers and provide a safe, effective, and practical alternative for large volume self injection.
From a technical standpoint, the platform was designed and verified through a comprehensive compatibility framework, ensuring robustness and reliability for high volume administration.
