Effective alternatives for ammonium sulfate treated pharmaceutical glass vials
Initially, ammonium sulfate treatment was used to enhance the surface hydrolytic resistance of Type III soda-lime-silica glass, reclassifying these vials as Type II glass. However, this treatment has also been applied to Type I glass containers to mitigate drug-container interactions. While this method addresses the immediate issue, it introduces other concerns. Ammonium sulfate treatments increase the risk of glass delamination and significantly impair vial inspection.
Read the whitepaper to learn about alternatives that effectively address the drug-container interaction challenges of ammonium sulfate treatments without the associated risks and consequences!
